New Website

For various reasons I have switched my website over to wordpress. It may not be as glamorous, but it is certainly more economical. Everything here is still in the process of being updated and brought up to par. I have added some relevant news posts from my old website, which you will see below. Please let me know if you see something that seems amiss: sammossmusic@gmail.com

Fine Work from Fine Friends

Several weeks ago Jackson Emmer released a new EP entitled PEN-PAL. Check it out/download it here. It’s a really fun collection of tunes, which if you know Jackson’s music should come as no surprise.

Will Stratton will be releasing No Wonder, his second proper full length album on Tuesday. As someone whose been lucky enough to have an advanced listen of the thing, I can say with confidence that it’s a really amazing piece of work. You can stream some songs from it on his myspace. He also self released a fine EP entitled Vile Bodies. Hear it on bandcamp.

Just a couple days ago Sewing Machines put the finishing touches on Bodies of Water, his excellent new album. I recorded some fiddle parts for some of the songs in September, which he took and cut up and altered to create some really cool textures. Stream it now on bandcamp!

Summer Tour Wrap Up

A little over a week ago the Will Stratton/Jackson Emmer/Sam Moss tour wrapped up with a lovely show in Bennington, VT.

Our collective heart was so warmed by the people that we met along the way and the hospitality we received was really astonishing and affirming to me that there are good human beings in so many places.

Here is a probably incomplete list of all the folks I’d like to thank for making the tour the wonderful experience that it was (chronologically): VOX Pop, The Moss Family, Trevor Wilson, the people that lived in that house in Jamaica Plain, Mountain Man, Lespecial, Anastasia, Phil (and family), Logan, Musica, Jess and the rest of the Spotty Dog, Cyrus, Kyle Clements, the people that lived in that house in Hadley, Leisure Colony, the Wolfson family, Dana & Faith, residents of the Blue House and the Welling Town House, Sam Clement, everyone that came to see us play, and of course, my dear buddies Jackson Emmer and Will Stratton.

Over the next several months I anticipate creating many songs and recordings, searching for some exciting new sound. Stay tuned to my page for occasional updates. Also, about half of the 100 physical copies of my new record are gone after just a few weeks, so if you’d like one, head to bandcamp!
